Prodromal Poets
in response to Rachel Aviv's WHICH WAY MADNESS LIES (Harper's Dec. 2010)

It's the overwhelming strangeness of the world
that makes bananas no longer taste
like bananas, and fresh water no longer
(taste) so fresh. Here, the secret
powers of fax machines are no less real
than those of foreign governments.

Every thought is published online--
I'm sure of it.
Search a thought on google; it's there.
Still, I've yet to find the site chronicling
my every thought. They
are still working on that.

"The Book of Ideas"
Synopsis: It requires no real thought to take action, so stop concentrating so much on your thoughts, and thinking so much about your actions. The more you think about your own thoughts, the more your thoughts will think for themselves, and the less they will be your own.

Have you been struggling with migrating
electrical sensations? Symptoms may include:
persistent religious thoughts, The God Delusion,
hearing trumpets when there are only horns.
It may result in failure to interpret the proverb
"an apple and a banana both have skin."

A great poet once told me, "If the Martian
Thought Transmission is not producing
enough creative energy, turn
your radio dial. Prod your spooks.
Seek New Thought Implants.
If all creativity is lost,
question the cat."
